Last weekend took place Ethical Fashion Show in Berlin 2016 and of course I was there to get some inspiration. This fair took place in Berlin Postbahnhof, a 19th century building that was rebuild through a station and had the name “Schlesischer Bahnhof”.
The day was perfect, Berlin was full of people, the weather was amazing, and I was ready to go to the fair as soon as I had my morning coffee. It took me a bit to get used to Berlin metro, it is huge! but everything is well connected. I got fascinated by the city and its movement, there is something that makes Berlin a unique emplacement for arty people and young creators.
I got to meet a lot of brands like Aikyou, Monduni, a brand that creates handmade products made by craftswomen and men. Ratnha Ho, that creates a collection with specialized techniques as high frequency and ultrasonic welding, Najha a Portuguese brand that makes accessories and shoes made of cork, Bamboo Belgium, Glimpse and so on. All of them working with transparency and social commitment in the production of their clothes. They focus on fashion and sustainability. Those where the criteria that all brands must follow to present their collections on the fair.
There were also goodie bags and a lot of stands where you could try from coconut water to sugar free soda made of coffee. You feel like you need 24 hours more to see everything, try everything and to meet more people on the area! I got very captivated with the amount of brands working with sustainability. The idea of Sustainable Fashion it’s not just a trend now, it has become a main focus on the textile industry. The Fashion industry has created a change towards a more humanitarian and and more environmental concerns. In any case, I hope to be there again in the next edition and I am looking forward to collaborate with some of the brands and spread their word to the rest of the world! Have an amazing day!
